Water Levels

MILL ON THE EXE 13/10/08

Back to low levels again.

We've had some nice levels information from Sam Anderson  so check out his blog.

If you have more info on the levels and gauge readings please let us know so we can help you. Email: sales@aswatersports.co.uk

Exe Web cam (is back!) - This web cam has been provided by the Environment Agency in association with the BCU and shows the level of the Exe at the Gauging weir at Thorverton (half way between Tiverton and Exeter). It gives a good general idea of the levels in the Exe and is worth looking at before traveling. Note that the Culm enters below the gauge so there may be more (or less) water at pots than we think. Please keep an eye on your readings and levels, and we will update this guide as you inform us and as we learn more.
From our initial monitoring, the following readings equate to the following levels: With the gauge not as it sued to be the hole is working at higher readings on the gauge
7.5 + to high for controlled playing, a big, fast bouncy wave that gives good thrashings and very flushy.
6.5-7.5 on the gauge = At 6 on the gauge its starting to get good again. At 7-7.5 a good chunky hole at pots, Generally Medium/ High on the Exe.
5.5 -6.5 on the gauge = Line stopper with weird wave in the middle. Generally Medium.
5.0  on the gauge or less = Not much happening at pots.

Well, Tom's gone. Here's another friend of A.S Watersports; Dom Crawford. Styling it up with a cheeky shudder rudder at the 1st Flower pots rodeo. All the way back in 2006!

About 7-8 on the new gauge.

THE RIVER DART   13/10/08

Yipee! the Loop section of the River Dart is now open!!

Low water still.

The Upper Dart is still closed until 1st November.

Dart News:

The Shuttle bus will be running again this winter. Possibly from Buckfastleigh for the first run of the day then Holne bridge to Newbridge.

Probably wont run at high or low water. We will confirm when we have the latest.

The BIG tree at Surprise Surprise on the Upper Dart is now pretty much clear and the drop is runnable.
