Last May we managed to get away for 3 weeks for a trip to Europe, we took Andy's van and headed first to the Val Sesia region in Italy where a lot of our friends already were or were on there way out. We started paddling the day we arrived. We paddled all the normal rivers, the Sorba, Sesia, Gronda, Egua plus some others with all our friends out there there was plenty of people up for paddling and we paddled with a different bunch each day. I also did quite a lot of photo taking as some of the rivers were a bit hard for me.

After spending a week or so there we headed over to the Soca in Slovenia. Having never been there before i was totally amazed by the colour of the water (a beautiful turquoise blue) we managed to get one day paddling in on a grade 3+ section before the river went into flood, it was massive so paddling was out of the question. It rained continually for the next 3 days, we spent most of it sat in the van watching dvds, in the on site pub surfing the net, or braving the weather and going for a walk. On the 4th day it did start to ease off lucky for us, as we were starting to get to each other. I definitely want to go back there again!

We finally gave up on the weather and headed up to Germany to play on a wave in a town called Plattling, its a pour over that creates a wave/ hole thing. Another bonus its just below a hydro power station which makes the water warmer than normal.

We stayed for a couple of days before having to head home and go back to work again, but there's always 09!
