Staff Profile - Ollie Footitt

Name: Ollie Footitt

Years paddling :

5
Favourite type of paddling : Whitewater & surf kayaking.
  Current Kit :
Helmet: Sweet strutter & Shred ready fullface
PFD: An old yak axel, definitly need to invest in a new, more bouyant PFD!
Drysuit: None unfortunatly, just the sweet prophecy & dry trousers!
Thermals: A selection, collected over several years... Looking at Helly Hansel pro wool & the IR Union suit once I learn how to save money.
Footwear: 5:10 Water tennies, the best investment I made in 2011.
  Deck: Playboater work deck.
Paddles: Glass werner players, 194cm. They've taken a good beating, yet still live on (fingers crossed)
Current Boats: A bombproof Eskimo Salto (perfect for lake district rock bashing) and a Fluid Flirt playboat, it does the job.
Favourite product owned: My old Pryanha inazone 220, amazing little boat which taught me alot, until I grew out of it.
Favourite current product: Easilly my 5:10 water tennies, Haven't slipped on rocks into a river since buying them.
Worst product owned: My old Nookie Airhead cag, It was perfect whilst it lasted but wear and tear saw it off, and I was left freezing on the river until my dad bought me my Sweet Prophecy.

Fave river/spot in the UK:

Easilly the upper dart, it would be rude not to with it being so close, Closely followed by the river Doe in cumbria, a nice technical grade 4/5 waterfall run.
Locations Paddled: Wales & England... I've never had the chance to go abroad! Or the funds, but things are looking good for the future.
Fave river/spot abroad: The tryweryn in wales, this is as far as I have ventured with boating abroad.
Fave river snack: Mars bar, hands down.
I would like to: Paddle abroad, preferably norway! And improve on my coaching and build up some qualifications!
Paddling hero: Probably the team from Tribe riders & Mike Bradford, getting me into the sport and coaching me throughout my school years!
