Who's it for? Perfect for lighter riders who want a versatile board for every circumstance and also for heavier riders for surfing.
The smallest of the Ride family is the 9’8” Ride, a board designed for all-round usage for lighter riders.
You’ll get the best out of it if you’re under 70kg/155lb, but that doesn’t exclude heavier riders. In fact, for heavier riders, the 9’8” makes a great surf shape. The key to the Ride’s versatility are its dimensions. It’s 787mm/31” wide and 100mm/3.93” thick, which makes it a stable but manoeuvrable board. It’s a great board for beginners, but because it’s been stiffened using the RSS battens, it delivers a fantastic experience for more advanced riders, too. The 9’8” Ride also has cargo tie-downs on the front for a dry bag.
The 9'8 Ride board is made using Red Paddle Co's own MSL material construction. This high tech industrial process saves up to 2kg per board compared to traditional 2-layer coatings, while retaining stiffness and durability. With a maximum pressure of over 20psi the paddleboards perform like a hardboard, and will keep their shape for years to come. New for 2020! All Red Paddle Ride boards now feature an ergonomic tubular centre carry handle. Using a closed-cell core to give thickness to the handle, you can now carry your board to the water in comfort. The embroidered Red Paddle Co logo gives a long lasting finish with no rough edges to dig into your hand.
Another addition for 2020, the handle at the front allows you to share the load with someone else, perfect for carrying 2 loaded boards. Launching and retrieving the board is now much easier. There is also an integrated accessory mount, perfect for cameras and lights. The thread is M8 compatible and can be used with a wide variety of mounts
The worlds best paddleboard pump? We think so! Purpose built to inflate Red Paddle Co boards to their required pressure, the Titan pump reduces the time spent getting ready - that means more time on the water!
Keep your board, paddle and pump safe and protected when not in use, with enough space to store some extras, so you are ready to grab it and go when the conditions are good! Travel with ease as the integrated wheels glide over smooth surfaces, or use the stowable backpack system when the terrain gets rougher. The reflective liner keeps the contents cool, as well as speed up cleaning after your adventure!
By looking at how and where a board flexes Red Paddle Co have developed and patented the Rocker Stiffening System (RSS) to increase rigidity. It works by inserting stiffening battens along the rails of the board. The battens then work against the downward force of the rider to produce a stiffer board by preventing flex – similar to how a stringer works on a hard board. The stiffening strips are removable for easy board rolling and can be stored in the carry bag for transportation to and from the water.Click here to find out more about the Rocker Stiffening System
Red Paddle Co have tested every system currently available and even developed fin systems of their own to find the best solution. Nothing comes close to the tried and tested iFin system that is fitted to the whole Ride range. No tools, replacements or spares are needed for the iFin system. Super tough and can be bent back into shape!Find out more about the different fin systems
The Red Paddle Ride Range consists of 4 different boards.
